    D-Backs to ship Reynolds to Orioles for two pitchers

    The Diamondbacks have agreed to a deal that will send third baseman Mark Reynolds to the Baltimore Orioles in exchange for young relievers David Hernandez and Kam Mickolio. The trade, rumored in recent days, came together Monday morning, the first day of baseball’s winter meetings.

    Palmeiro's Hall candidacy a gray issue

    Rafael Palmeiro is landing on the Hall of Fame ballot for the first time. And there is no gray where the Cuba-born first baseman with the sweet left-handed swing is concerned.

    Orioles' sweep makes history for Showalter

    Friday's 2-1 win in Game 2 over the Tigers — part of a doubleheader sweep — improves the Orioles to 33-22 under Showalter, making him the first manager since 1900 to take over any team in August or later and win more games the rest of the way than that team had won before he got there.

    Orioles' Patton meets half-sister for first time

    September has been a whirlwind month for Orioles reliever Troy Patton. Not only did the right-hander get called up to the big leagues for the first time since 2007, but he also met his 34-year old half-sister for the first time in his life.
